Returning After Near Death Events

I have been busy these last months after going temporarily blind one late night watching A movie on TV.The Lights went completely out.I new that the house lights were on but My eyes saw only a black void.I sat there in my easy chair with the TV playing and was blind.

I had no vision at all.t amazed me that my state of mind was quiet and analyzing  what just happened.I placed my hand in front of my face then touched my face I guess to use another sense to double check my findings.

I have heard folks say how many things go through ones head when they find themselves alone, and stricken ed.I realized I had possibly had a stroke.Calling the local emergency number on speed dial got the hospital night operator who 4times put me through to an answering machine but refused to get me help even after I told her my life was threatened

I sat there wondering how to navigate out of my Man-cave size room with out falling over anything.I wondered how different my life would be now.The thought that I had vision, memories to help in new darkness might carry me through the tough times I was heading into.I thought of how I was going to have to stay put till someone discovered me.

I wondered if this was a punishment for something in my past.I quickly put those thoughts out of my mind.We punish ourselves with out any superpower bothering with it.I was alive even so I thought..I was alive and whatever it was had not killed me.That’s the the first order of access your situation.Size up your options.Start a plan of action.Focus on the now

I was alive didn’t seem to have anything more than the eyes effected.Arms moved.Hands open and closed.legs moved. No dizziness or light headedness. All systems go except the eyes. Those wonderful instruments that record 75-80% of all we do each waking moment.

So there I sat in pitch darkness wondering what to do.Saying a silent  prayer to God to give me strength…(I would learn later this situation ran about 25 to 45minutes). Then with my right eye there was a tiny pinhole of faint light. The left eye began to clear as though looking through a frosted window. The pinhole vision slowly grew wider and wider till vision was restored.Foggy but restored. When I felt able to walk I made My way to the other end of the house and woke people for a ride to the hospital.

I was admitted for tests and found that a blood-clot had moved out of my brain and traveled through my right eye.99% of my right neck artery and both blood vessels in my heart were blocked. An hour after my emergency surgery It was like the lights all went on.Sounds and lights were over whelming Folks talking was clear and easily understood.I walked without the help of others. My mind was sharper than before.

The prior months began to be a terrible burden on my family as I was less and less able to function.Doctors didn’t suspect I was dying inside. My bicycle building had stopped because I couldn’t focus.I tired easily do to lack of oxygen via my blood flow to heart and brain. There were days when I would be so frightened because I didn’t recall where I was.My blogs and other articles began to show a major personality change. Then I found my writing extremely hard to do.Then I had to Leave them completely.

I was having severe nightmares due to lack of oxygen to my system.I was requiring more and more sleep every day.My weight increased from health and inactivity.Everything in my system/Body was shutting down. The doctors couldn’t pinpoint the cause.

I ran tests with treadmills.Had EEG’s and EKG’s.Scans and MRI’s.None of the test apparently found the cause. They did blood tests and put me on drugs for a disorder I had 30years ago.I guess the medical folks just got frustrated. The Blood-clot came after I was forced to retire very early and my long held perfect drivers license was taken for my safety.

Now….I have permanent damage from taking so long to find the problem.Blood clots and stroke kill many people who are not elderly.Age doesn’t matter. The papers on Vietnam Veterans Autopsies stated that a high percentage of those 18 and more veterans had damage from many mini strokes throughout their lives.

I did okay with this health situation. The story here is because it took me by surprise and now I am living and learning after the fact.I hope this serves any age group with a warning to take care of yourself.

If there comes a time you feel your failing without a reason (physically or mentally)Then find doctors or professionals to target a plan to help you.Your life will change even if you choose to ignore those signals that somethings not right. My life is on a rebound. For the grace of God go I.

The healthy diet I should have followed is now mandatory. Not to bad really…The long walks I neglected are now my program. My bicycle building and riding is now restarting.

It has been a long haul and I ain’t done just yet.But please if you read this then get a check up from a great doctor who cares enough to be thorough. It will save you and yours so much agony in the long run.

This is the voice of experience and I would not want anyone to have to go through it.You may not have the angel watching your foolish human back so well.

Till next time dear friends,Take care of yourselves.

Part 4 On The No Weld Recumbant Trike Project

The trike is now a lovely shade of Neon Yellow.I painted the frame with a mustard Yellow to become a dark background base. The paint was both primer and paint in one spray can.I had to wait a day for the paint coat to dry before I then used a sunburst Yellow to begin to brighten the tone of the color.I wanted to find as bright a neon Yellow as possible.

When an on coming auto looked at this trike,I wanted them to see an object that is a reason to need shades/sunglasses to look at it.I now have a Yellow neon color that is so Neon,It actually is painful to look at in bright sunlight.I would classify this as a definite success. To explain running into such an overly obvious sunburst would be unexplainable even if the auto driver blamed the whole thing on his seeing eye dog or the auto pilot driving his car.

I must admit that I just bought a dandy little welder for the ridiculously low price of $80.American.from a place called Tractor Supply Store. It uses 1/16th and 1/8th welding rod.IThe welder runs off the standard 115volt house currentt is truly a life saver when it comes to light weight welding. In just 4hours I had retaught myself how to weld.I reurned the wire mig welder that I had bought. Not what I was familiar with.

The Welder was a last ditch effort to save me from tearing my hair out in despair. The bolted on Deraileur I was using to take up the long chains slack was totally uncooperative in staying in place when power was put to the pedals.So..I built a crude standard from an old frame that originally held a 200gallon kerosene tank. When the trike sets on this frame it is supported on either side of the main tube to support the front of the trike.A single support on the frame just in front of the rear wheel. This arrangement allows for the pedaling while adjusting different mechanisms. It also usurps the rediculois costs of buying a “PROFESSIONAL”work stand for the mega cost.I then proceeded to use my new Handy Dandy welder(my name for it)to break my plan to completely build a trike with no welds at all.A friend quickly pointed out the fact that it already had welds from the original Bikes I had cannabalized to build it.NOT a satisfactory consolation to me,but I visuallized me stopping every 100yards to tighten that */!**?bolt on the chain idler. It is really a great job of welding. That weld will still be there holding the deraileur 10years from now.guess I musta been a tad bit more frustrated than i realized.Yup,musta been plenty ticked off alright…

So now I am working on a system to allow this trike to lean into the curves to relieve tipping and side stress on my front wheels. This is the idea that I came up with.I tried to read up on all the techie stuff about Ackermen, blah, blah blah.Well thats all great if you are interested in such things.I have a reputation of coming to the split in the woods and taking the less traveled path.So this is how I am proceeding.

After building the axles with wheels attached I tipped the axle back so the connecting rod is 15degrees lower than the front axles. After the axle is attached to the frame you will be able to turn the wheels and the trike will lean in the direction of the turn.A little tinkering with your particular trike design will find that if you find a way to add a series of adjustments for the amount of tilt,it will be easier to fine tune just how much you are willing to see the road coming up to greet you speeding face leaning ever closer to the blacktop.

I had a revelation recently when a local Wallys World sale(Walmart to the You)was selling out a Mongoose mountain bike with 29inch wheels with  front and rear disk brakes.Lotsa hardware just sitting there for me.I tried to walk by it and the voices in my head said,”Hey Bud,got a deal for ya.You need this bike, you gotta have this.Ya just can not live without these parts,er I mean this bike…Ok.I sorta made up the part about the voices in my head. But everyone did know that I wanted the parts to save money and improve my trike.I plan on using the rear 29inch with disk brake on the trike.I promised myself to ride it till my trike is calling to sacrifice it to the trike for upgrading purposes.

This Mongoose MT bike has quuando hubs which many have stated are hubs that may not last long. Not good for a long distant ride.soo..I went to work to find a remedy for preventive foresight.Problem is that the Quando hubs have a write up on the net that the wheels are weak. But the Hubs only last a very short time before the bearing give out. Some comments to the bike forum stated only 45miles on the hubs to self destruct. But in my madness,I have a plan.Read on my friend.

have read an article on building hubs from scratch.Cut out of 1/8inch steel two circles the size of what your hubs are. That is to say the part of the hub that the spokes normally lace into near the axle.If you dont have a lathe then this method will serve you to actually make great nearly indestructable hubs.Ok,you got the round circles cut out with a hacksaw, torch or what ever.file or grind the rough circles to round perfect shape.take your time and do it right. You will need to at least match the original hub size you are replacing or you will need a new set of spokes to respoke your rim to the new hub you are constructing.

Nect you need to find a pattern for the holes that your spokes lace through.I am using an old hub from an old experiment.I had cut the hub off so it was a single side of the hub.Lay a piece of paper down against the circles you cut out.Paper on top of the old hub.By rubbing the top of the paper over the hub,you will now have all the holes for spoke to transfer the spoke pattern onto the paper/pattern.This pattern is then carefully glued to the metal need to now carefully drill your 32 holes from the pattern. This is also easier if all the disks are fastened together before drilling with the paper pattern glued on the very top disc.

Next your going to need a way to join the two sides of your hub.measure the old hub on the outside and then inside.these two measurements will be for the inner and outside tubes of your new hub.If your using cartrage bearings, run down to the local Lowes or whatever hardware and take your axle you intend to use on your future hub.surprisingly you will find the same bearings in different sizes the bike suppliers charge an arm and led for. The price is just a few dollars with industrial quality. The only real measurement at this point is the two measurements you took from the old hub.The new cartrage bearing must allow the axle to pass through the bearing.I actually dumped the axle from my converted bicycle wheel.A case hardened #8 bolt that fits the bearing worked just great.

I took the metal discs, now with the required 32spoke holes drilled into them all.note the holes of the old hub you are copying have the spoke holes filed at an angle.this can be done with a bit of patience with a tiny hobby file.Pay particular attention to which way the old hub was filed. It is very inportant for the future spoking of your super wheel.

Ok,this seems like a lota work.Don’t lose faith, almost there.when this is done, you will have hubs of steel like no one else.Next place your new cartage bearings in the center of the metal discs you cut into a circle. You can find the center of the discs by drawing lines across the top disc.the lines will intersect in the center. That will be a rough center point that you can now drill a hole and put a bolt thru to hold the washers together.A bolt the size of the axle will allow the bearing to be bolted on top of the metal circles you drilled spoke holes in.

Now draw aline around the bearing. This gives you the size you will need to drill for the bearing to fit.Unbolt the bearing from the discs.Drill the hole for the bearing. This is the line you traced around the bearing on the metal discs.Almost there, hard part is mostly now should have 4metal discs with 32 spoke holes around the outer edge.A hole in each disc that the cartage bearing should fit through. If I have been clear enough to this point, then we are all on the same page.If I have lost you, well just go back throught this article and systematically follow the instructions without trying to reason it out.The pieces will soon show you the way.

You must now measure how wide your old axle was in the forks. This can very as needed.remeber this is your custom made hub and wheel…The with is determined by a lot of factors.I would advise you to just use the old width of the old hub.The engineers that designed the old hub used all the R and D(Research and Developement).A lot of cash went into figuring side stress etc.Better to go with the flow then try to reinvent the wheel. To use a cliche.

Now comes the final pieces of my master design. From the bearing revolving to the right you can see the bearing has a center that has to sit againsta tube behind the bearing.Ok here is how to finish this will need a tube the bearings will fit into. This is the tube that will hold hold the metal discs as a hubone at each end of th tube.Note:the heavier the tube, the stronger the structure.1/8th inch in standard on most hubs. The inner tube will allow the axle/bolt etc to pass thru with a bearing fittinf into the outside tube and butting up against the inner tubing.

IF….you now have all the pieces for assembly…The next thing needed will unfortunatly be some one to weld up or super epoxy the whole thing buying the above welder,I figured I saved around $200.on trying to have suppliers send me the proper parts. It really took more time to figure this out and hunt the parts down then think tanking the design. Some one told me the design was similar to anothr online.I have not run that design down quite yet.But if it is there then maybe it is better than mine.worth a look.

The next entry into the trike will be the seat I refuse to pay 300bucks for.I am going to experiment with some fibeglass clothe and resin with metal support for mounting.I promised to flash some photos for the eye candy effect.

so far I have been more involved in the design and building of my magnum trike.I am still working on a way to place a set of deraileur freewheel on a Sturmey archer 3speed hub. Thus 15-21speeds all on the rear wheel.I will then add 3chaiwheels to a schlumpf pedal setup. The idea of an additional 34-42tooth sprocket addition to the rear wheel will make my trike able to leap tall mountains in a whole lota spinning.additionally I have found a chainwheel that has 73 teeth for those rocket rides downhill.

This is not my trike, but I thought I would show another builder for inspiration to others since I have not posted photos of mine yet.Looks like this builder also spent a while on him passion as I.

Next time I will tell about my sterring controls and various little tidbits that you might incorperate to safe a great deal of cussing out in the middle of no where with no one there to hear your poetic efforts of blowing of steam..:)

Looking forward to next time friends and readers.More detail is on the way.My contribution to the future Technomadic Life.Ride On and Live Free.

Please take a look some sights that I find interesting

ALERT:Internet Explorer Has Been Compromised According To Microsoft Corp.

Microsoft has issued a plea for folks to uninstall Internet Explorer on all window EX sysytems due to a hole that allows hackers to grab important information from your computers.

Antivirus will not help in this matter as it is a hole in the program that microsoft has not been able to fix.THERE IS NO FIX TO THIS AT THIS POINT IN TIME!

Hackers have compromised thousands of computers at this point in  time according to reports.Warehouses and medical organizations are still using the XP systems. They are working to prevent the hacking. You can guard your system by downloading another type of browser such as the one that I use.Its called Mozilla Nightly and updates itself every night to keep the bugs out.It also has a neat little addon called cookie killer that destroys the tracking cookies each time you leave the page of a websight.Denying snoopers from following.

Version 24-29 of mozilla will solve your problem.Be sure to either turn IE off or uninstall it or the auto turn on at next startup will just turnit on again.Antivirus will not fix this is not a virus,it is a hole in the Internet Explorer program.

The only solution according to microsoft is to uninstall the entire browser called Internet Expllorer from your computer.

The recent articles regarding my Recumbant  Trike project and my old articles regarding the Technomads Tribe is again on my mind.I have retired awhile ago so ai could devote more time to creating a rock solid self powered vehicle to travel at random with.I am hoping to get others interested in a life of travel, exercise and good times all over the USA.If others who were self supported were to go along with no demands to stay for any length of time it would truly be a happy group project. We would be that Technomadic Tribe.

Self sufficent would mean a way to support ones self along the way.The tribe would share life experience with whatever they knew best. For instance,A mechanic such as myself would help with repairs. Some one who was good with writing might help with a person supported by blogging. Some one such as a nurse would come in handy when a mishap handed out a skinned knee or elbow.A person with a long life of history background would find historical sites useful.Navigation might be a person who has traveled before.I think anyone with a good sense of their life would enjoy the friendship that will last a lifetime.Riding together has always been safer than alone.

Currently my research has been collecting articles on survival and self sufficiency of those who are experts.Articles of those already traveling on the road to lifes adventures have been a lot of help. The subtle little things they learned by hard lessons are well heeded. The type of terrain. How to cope with the different riding conditions. What to pack and how to stay out of trouble healthwise

.The vehicle you are riding would need to be rugged enough to be trouble free while not being astromonically expensive.I read about the folks that rode just acrossed the country and the enjoyment that they shared. There is also the 71year old gent that rode acrossed the USA and decided to keep riding.Has done so for years. He is quite the expert on the crossing alone.

Bicycling has been my interest since my paper route demanded a way to deliver the 110 papers to my customers. My older red head sister, Jean bought me a single speed Huffy with baskets.I have been riding every since with the exception of last year where a bit of surgery knocked me down for a while.Life is to short to just lay down and get fat…

Think for moment of the first day that you have no muscles aching and the crisp air filling your lungs as the morning greets your waking brain. The smell of bacon and eggs hits you in the nose and the smell of fresh coffee. Some one is fixing the breakfast in their turn for it.The day is just beginning and for the first time in a long time you feel healthy and alive.

The headline fears are still available to you since the electronic world has made that available.Communications with those you value are next fone linked to say I am ok or catch up on family or business  affairs. Then the morning meal with friends of the road tribe to eat, plan and get ready for the day ahead.Repair if need be and repack to get a better ride.Maybe to make the load more accessable, more, easily available.

The trip is not like the road racing bikes you see on the street.Pedaling like crazy to give their butts a ride.Going so fast and working so hard that they miss everything along the way.You all agree that the group is ready to ride and go at a leisure pace that everyone will enjoy.Stopping to take pictures, readjust for comfort and generally enjoying the time given. There is no relatable feeling that compairs to it when you finally feel in shape and nothing hurts.A few days after you started riding with the tribe the pains become muscle and your weight drops to comfort levels.Your body tunes to the athlete you always dreamed of being. You are free and alive, maybe fore the first time in a long time or the first time ever. The wind is in your face as you pedal along with your new friends who share your feelings of living.

You ride with others. Slowest riders in front and fastest riders in back to be able to pace the group.A few riders ride far ahead to scout the route for easiest passage.Your destination may be a camp ground somewhere ahead or a hotel for showers food and a rest period. The autos pass with care because there would be a lot of eyes in a misdeed done. The tribe is from all walks and professions of life. The talents and abilities are from diverse worlds united with the common love of thier life of freedom.

This article is as close as I can explain as to why I have worked for these years building a trike wih every conceivable option that I could find or think of.I wanted to retire and ride just to see the world I missed.I will be uploading  the pictures soon for those interested.I am constantly making upgrades with modifications to every part that doesnt measure up to an easy ride.

My latest project is trying to interest people in buliding trikes to travel this road with me.Perhaps for a summer,perhaps…..

I will be writing again soon I welcome those who are becoming followers and readers alike.WELCOME DEAR READERS

Recumbant DIY Trike Project Part 3/The Chains to Long/Jackshaft Using Pedal CHainwheels

holga | 35mm | sprockets #3

holga | 35mm | sprockets #3 (Photo credit: slimmer_jimmer)

My latest change to my bolt together trike[I don’t have excess to welding equipment yet]is to increase the torque to the rear wheel. This feature may slow down the trikes speed going uphill while compensating for not being able to standup on pedals like a conventional bike. Its really going to be easier to just stop and sit awhile in my “ez-boy recliner”type tadpole while the conventional rider poops out and walks uphill. This extra low gear will allow me to simply downshift a couple sprockets and walk up the hill sitting down.Ready for this?Okay listen up.

I have cut off a mountain bikes rear end to build this trike.(Dont whimper mountain bike person)It has suspension from the factory that built the left the pedals intact just under and to the rear of the tadpoles seat.Cutting off the pedal arm on the right side as you would sit on the bike(before you cut the frame). You need a second pedal/sprocket setup from another multi-speed bike.this new setup should be of a type to fit your current pedal shaft.Note that  the pedal shaft is sometimes square and other times round with a hardened pin through the pedal arm  near the sprockets to lock it onto the shaft. This has to match-up on both sides of the pedal-shaft.A loose or non-fitting  sprocket is going to be nothing but problems. This completes the rear left side jack-shaft  part of the super low gears.OK,Hang with me on this its going to get more interesting.

Next you need to find another rear gear changer/ really does not have to be for a wide gear/sprocket range.A 5speed gear changer from an old bike will do just fine for what we want. For the moment you can just put this deraileur aside. We wont need it till we accomplish a few more real easy steps.Don’t get discouraged at this point. This is a grand design for powering up the usually butt busting hills ahead. This will be well worth the effort when you pass those who Poo-Poo our “bents”as freaks of engineering. You know,Those guys that boohoo’d in the 1930’s when recumbant riders whooped them athletic types on conventional bikes. Those days are a changing. Some cheery things to say as you pass the walking sweating conventional rider  might be,”nice day for a ride when you can”or “Yeah,I used to ride one of those things too”:) But I digress here a bit.Getting back  2 my project. The front sprocket on your tadpole trike is on the side its usually found conventionally. This is where we get creative.I’m sure every possible innovation has been tried on wheeled pedal vehicles. This next trick is found on tandems(bikes built for two).Take the  front tadpole pedal assembly and reverse the drive sprockets. That is, take the pedal arm with your drive sprocket and switch it to the opposite side it normally is on.Trade sides with your pedal arm that would normally be on the left side.It will now be on the right side.Sprockets  on the left of the pedal shaft as you sit on the trike. No need to mess with bearings on anything that allows pedals and spockets to be removed without messing with the bearings and shaft. This Jack-shaft sprockets  is your super low gears. You now join the front reversed sprockets/pedals with a shortened chain to the makeshift Jack-shaft just behind your seat. How does this make more gears, you ask…I am getting to that and I hope you have followed to this point.

The 5speed gear changer I obtained has to go ahead of the secondary(Left hand sprockets).I reversed the    gear changer.Turning it upside down and  backwards to what you find on the rear wheel of a bike.I also found it best to place the 5speed deraileur on the bottom  of the chain. This position allows a smooth gear change and also acts as a chain idler. This would be the part of the chain returning from the front sprockets. You may have to experiment a little to find the sweet spot that smoothly shifts the sprockets best.I placed an idler flat belt pulley from the hardware($8.00),on the top part of the chain to help maintain it from slopping around.I bolted this to the frame with 3/8″bolts.The deraileur also is bolted to the frame. There’s lots more sophisticated ways of doing what I have done.If you have suggestions please feel free to comment. You have to ask why I would build what i could buy?Its the shear thrill of seeing what your own abilities and imagination can create. This setup can give you hours of tinkering to create the gearing for the rides of your dreams.I have yet to invent,(I guess),a way to shift the front gears on this trike.So-far i have 21gears on the rear sprockets.Three sprockets on the right side jack-shaft.Three sprockets on the opposite side of the jack-shaft and 2sprockets on the front main drive at the front of the trike.T 3 three sprockets in the main/front drive pedals so far have been a rather uncooperative project. The chain idlers have been reluctant to take up enough slack to stay on the sprockets in extreme low gears. This would be very useful if you were pulling a loaded trailer uphill.I will post the solution when I find it ,or you find it and impart the in genius idea to me in the comments.

The gear changers need to be tuned very tight on the jack-shaft (right/rear sprockets). That is, the limiting screws for hi and lo will be nearly as far screwed in as possible. This being because you wont be changing 5,7or 9gears,Only 2 or 3 sprockets.A real short distance. They were not designed for the large sprockets and its going to take patience to find the perfect setting.Believe me when I tell you how much power it puts into the hills.Lastly,You need to add gear changing levers and run new cables to them. They should be tightly adjusted to work properly.A bit more tinkering by you(the pro by now).Almost done with this.

I mounted a pair of conventional gearshifts on the down-post to my trike. My deraileurs were mostly Suntour and Shimano. They are what I had from bikes I was given to experiment on.You might use other parts that work better. Please feel free to share.Your 15 minutes? of fame…

This super-gear setup will either have you pedaling like crazy to climb a hill at a snails pace or going 30miles per hour as I have been clocked doing by a rather shocked  automobile driver following  behind me.(I blew a tire at 30mph and nearly ditched it)!Next time,26″fat tires instead of700s

I really hope to include photos soon of my rather unique project.I really have not had time to make a proper journal for anyone to use yet. This will follow in the future making a clearer instruction manual for those adventurous enough to dare to go where few riders have gone before. The world of human powered vehicles.Humans can put about the equavilant of 14 horse-power to those pedals and to the rear wheel as it hits the blacktop. This is what I have often read anyway.A super-gear simply provides a way to convert all that “Horse Power” into power pulling torque.Yeah,it is very slow in double granny.I don’t have a schedule when I ride and the super high gear is a rollie-coaster ride for the strong hearted.I really must look into disc brakes in the future. Those friction wheel pinchers really stink when your doing 25mph and a deer jumps out to see what this thing looks like up close and personal.Yup…..disk brakes n deer whistles 🙂

Sometime ago I wrote an article regarding my trike that I had built from scratch .
It was a bolt together frame and built from various parts of bikes that I recycled.
It has rear suspension for comfort when riding over the roughest roads. This was cut from a mountain bike with an aluminum frame.I used the seat post as my seat back support.A pipe was bolted to the lower bar that originally past forward to the fork tube. The pedals were from an old Fugi 10 speed. The pedal tube was from a noname bike with 12 speeds. That was bolted to the pipe that ran from front to back, passing under the seat.I rebuilt an English 3speed hub to except a deraileur sprocket on the hub using the original 3spd sprocket as an adapter to mount the multi spd sprocket on the rear wheel. The result is a rear hub that is a full 10×3=30spds all on the rear wheel.#more sprockets on the pedals is a full 90spds.I re-spoked the fragile rear whell with a wide rim of 26inch size.Later it may be a 29inch for better travel characteristics.

You may ask why so many gears?I intend to tour this summer with no problems climbing hills or keeping pace on downhills.

Tune in again and I will be working to find a way to add a jackshaft to further the ease of pedaling along.I was thinking about a possible sail setup that would make a tailwind useful. Many states here in the USA do not allow electric power units on bicycles/Trikes.The multiple power units would make the trip a little more pleasant without police lights pulling behind me.I know of no law using the wind on the highways.(as long as it is not a hazard).

I also have placed a solar cell atop the trike for the charging of batteries and it will make a great shade provider. on sunny days as well as on overly sunny days.
During the night when I might get hung up to ride a little after dark,I have a 12volt Bicycle Generator in the ready to engage position. The voltage controller that came with the solarcell works to charge from both Gennie and solar cell with a cutout relay from RadioShack. Central Tractor Stores sell a book on Wind and solar cells for children that explains the procedures.

Running lights are from a auto parts store. They run down the left and right sides of the frame, seat frame and end up on both sides of the frame in front of the axle.

My headlights are converted bullseye minilights for a car.The conversion is 12volt quartz halogen mini spot bulbs from a haardware store.2 more mini lites are superbrite LEDs in mini flashight conversions.(original insides removed and heftier electronics installed. Finally a small rechargable 12volt light installed behind the semi-reclined seat.Seat is lightweight sheet aluminum covered with hi density foam and then with a type of breatable cordura..It looks good and works for me.

Steering is direct and tilts into corners by tilting the axle.I havent flipped it yet.
I am currently working on converting a bike trailer into a small lightweight untility trailer.I am for the moment a little delayed in my work on bicycles. While The local hospital was saving my life after I had a stint with severe ilness hittting me.Someone broke in and stoled all my bicycle tools.
Wrenches I have had for the past 40years orso.My grandfathers antique wrenches,My dads and his brothers tools that I have always used. They took only my tools. It is like someone who thought it would stop my love of this hobby. If you are blocked in your process then lokk for the way.Over, under, around or though. It will be awhile till I can budget the replacement of those tools that I once uced in my bike shop.Till then I guess theres time to think what the next idea is..

See You soon dear friends.

This is a return that I have been asked, as to why I sorta abandoned it a couple years ago.
Well it goes like this,I moved most of my blogging to options were a little better with the Zemanta funtion and Mozilla‘s many addon’s to power the blogs up.

I truly wished that WordPress had more options like that.It really makes for a flashy blogging experience. The key also was that much of this Blogsite always seemed to be rather pricey in something as simple as a background.I also was a novice to internet writing. Most of my written work was not internet involved.

I like to read the best too.I would rather put the efforts into just writing a decent blog that might entertain or help someone out.I have pretty much proven that all those adds that have been on my blogs are a loads of UN-usable horse pooh.My intake for 136 Blogs made a whopping 19cents on 18months of goggle ads.Your not going to get rich with the internet.Good thing I am not into my writing for the money..I would starve to death.I truly feel bad for those who are suckered with all those people sending E-Mails bragging as to how many millions you will make in a month. Some even go as far as holding up a supposedly blown up monster check for the photo op.If they were Pinocchio,The photographer would need a telescopic lens to avoid the nose…

Everyday there is some one sending me loads of garbage in my mailbox for everything for so called enhancements for various body parts and functions. The politicians that flirt with the Internets temporary freedoms of press till it gets monitored into the black void. Then there is the men and women that are basically Prostitutes on call. All in various alluring pose’s to entrap.Incidentally reader,Some of those offers come directly from the homeland security factions.Go ahead and take a chance on creeping crud or jail.

I am back to WordPress because I can see what may be changes and enhancements to bring a better blogging experience to the writers.I will try to find things like the WordPress version of Zemanta or it’s rival which slips my memory at present. They really do make a great difference.

Another change which may be troubling my computer is that I am experimenting with various Linux programs.Currently I am really Perturbed at Microsofts abomination of windows 8.1.
I hate the little flippy doodle APPS.I really would have bought an Android fone if I wanted Android.I didn”t mind Win7,I loved XP Professional.I still have several older salvaged and rebuild towers with XP running proudly in them.So maybe the Linux system is
partly do to my learning curve with it.

Linux Mint,Bigdog,Puppy, and ubuntu are in my experimenting plans.I also have heard there is a linux program that mimics Windows XP PRO.I have yet to track it down.

Anyway,Thought I would start to use it again and see what it amounts to.My other Blogsite is running well now and can be found At Constitutional Rights Eroded By Dictated Laws on to have you as my reading guest.

Please return here often and see if I can entertain an intrigue you.Or just make you think.

Till next time dear reader.

Another reason might be that I also in the time period had had 2 laptops and a home unit expire from  working too hard thus taking my passwords with thier demise,sad…..very sad.
